How to reach to Vung Tau

Vung Tau is about 110 km away from Saigon, so the climate is not too different from Saigon, there are 2 separate seasons, climate is so fresh and sometimes, there are sudden rains. From November to April is the dry season, the rainy season is from May to October. Vung Tau is cool all year round, so it is okay to travel in any season. However, before departure, visitors on Tours in Vietnam should remember to watch the weather forecast to avoid rainy days.

You can move to Vung Tau by motorbike or self-driving car, hydrofoil or passenger car according to your choice.

Coach

Passenger cars are convenient transport vehicles that are safe to be chosen by many tourists of Vietnam Travel Agent. You can take a bus at Mien Dong Bus Station (Ho Chi Minh City) and return by taking the bus at Vung Tau Bus Terminal (Vung Tau City). Fares range from 60,000 to 100,000 VND.

Hydrofoil

Hydrofoil is the fastest means of transportation from Saigon to Vung Tau but the travel cost is quite high. It takes you about 1.5 hours to take the hydrofoil boat with the ticket price of about 200,000 – 250,000 VND. You can buy tickets and travel at Bach Dang Wharf (Ho Chi Minh City) to reach Cau Da Wharf (Vung Tau City).

Motorcycles, self-driving cars

Moving by these 2 types of vehicles suitable for backpacking travelers who would like to have freedom on the trip. You can visit the places you like or stop in the middle of the street to take beautiful photos. You will have 3 roads to choose from Ho Chi Minh city.

Road 1: You go along National Highway 1A, passing Dong Nai Bridge running about 30 km will meet a traffic roundabout (local people called Vung Tau crossroads, formerly known as Vung Tau fork). From here you turn right along Highway 51. Continue going about 100 km further to set foot in Vung Tau City.

Road 2: You can choose the route from Cat Lai ferry (District 2, Ho Chi Minh City) to Nhon Trach (Dong Nai). This straight road will lead to national highway 51, which section into Nhon Trach Industrial Zone. And from this point, go about 100 km further to Vung Tau City.

Road 3: You still follow National Highway 1A, cross Dong Nai Bridge, along National Highway 51 to 27 km from Vung Tau, there will be a signpost to guide Long Son. This is a shortcut to Vung Tau. This road section has just been built, with few traffic vehicles and beautiful scenery with floating fishing villages.

Note: Before traveling you should remember

Prepare lightweight but full backpack, with raincoat and little junk food.

Remember to store your money in many places, such as in the clothes, in backpacks, shoes, to prevent being theft.

If you ride a motorbike, you should check tires, batteries, turn signals, lights …, change oil, install 2 full mirrors to ensure safety when travelling.
