Location of Linh Ung Pagoda

Linh Ung Pagoda in Da Nang is located in Son Tra district, on the top of the Bai But beach with a tortoise shape looking out the sea, about 10km south-east from the city. From the temple, you can easily see the beauty of the sea and enjoy the cool air of the sea breeze.

People in Son Tra peninsula said that in the reign of King Minh Mang (Nguyen Dynasty, XIX century) there was a statue of Buddha drifting to the sand here. The sandy beach where the statue of Buddha drifted is called Bai But (meaning Buddha land) is also the place where the Linh Ung Pagoda was built.

From over seventeen towers, you can see the whole city, mountains and Son Tra peninsula perfectly. Further, Ngu Hanh Son Mountain surrounded by the long beach with smooth white sand appeared clearly in your eyes.
