To travel to Sapa, tourists can choose an overnight train or a sleeper bus. It takes around 9 hours to get Sapa on the train then arriving at Lao Cai Station, you need to hire a shuttle bus or taxi for one hour to Sapa town.
In addition, you can book sleeper buses to get there through your hotel from Hanoi to Sapa Town. If you book Sapa Vietnam tour, all transfer services are included in the payment.
It is suggested for tourists to visit Sapa in July, August, September, October and November because Sapa is at its green at that time. Some people suppose this is in the rainy season but it is a beautiful period of many gorgeous sceneries.
From December to April is the time of a pretty cold weather without rain. It will be a good idea for any tourist would like to enjoy an adventure. The landscapes are most beautiful at this time as well.
This is one of the most sensitive thing while traveling in Sapa. Many local woman especially Black Hmong and Red Dzao tribe will attract you with some short conversations and persuading you to buy something for them. There maybe 1 person of 1 small group will come to you with a nice talk, however, they may ask you to buy at least 1 piece of each person.
Trekking or doing some types of outdoor activities are popular in Sapa therefore the tour guide will consume more energy in Sapa than other destiantions of Vietnam. Tips is often optional for tourists but if you feel satisfied with his/her, we suggest you to tip with 5 USD/day/person.
Hill tribe markets are one of the most unique experiences in Sapa. The highlight of this cultural visit originated from the meeting with local tribes from different areas with different customs.
